TERMS & CONDITIONS

PAYMENT

  • Payment must be made at the start of your pet’s stay with us – either on arrival at the farm, or by cash to our driver on collection of your pet or by card over the phone prior to collection of your pet. We accept payment by cash, credit or debit card or by bank transfer.
  • Charges are per day so you pay for the day your pet arrives and the day they leave.
  • During peak periods (Easter, August and Christmas/New Year) we require a £30 deposit against each booking which is non refundable. Your booking will not be confirmed until we receive this deposit, and your place may not still be available should you turn up on the day having not made the deposit payment.
  • We do not charge our customers peak rates in the school holidays. The only additional charge we make is at Christmas, when Christmas day, Boxing day and New Years day are charged at double price – this is to cover additional staffing expenses.

VIEWINGS

  • Prospective customers are welcome to view the kennels and cattery Monday to Friday 10am – 12pm or 1pm – 3pm.
  • Viewings outside of these times can be arranged if needed – please feel free to call and discuss.

BOOKING

  • Please check availability with us before booking your holiday as we do get fully booked at peak times.
  • Booking requests can be made either by phone or by filling in the booking request form. Once we receive your booking request we will process the booking and send you written confirmation by email including a copy of our T & C’s (which will need to be signed on drop off) and an invoice.
  •  If we cannot accommodate you for the dates you have requested we will advise you at that time.
  •  We usually run a waiting list so if you want to be added please let us know. It is advisable for first time boarders to have a few trial short stays with us prior to a longer holiday stay.

CANCELLATIONS AND EXTENSIONS

  • Cancellations should be made as soon as possible please so that we can re-book the kennel.
  • No charge will be made other than the non-refundable deposit.
  • We do not give refunds for unused days unless in exceptional circumstances.
  • Please note that during peak times we may not be able to extend your pet’s stay with us at short notice.
  • The kennels and cattery are usually booked to full capacity at these times and we may not have a spare kennel.
  • Please make sure your booking covers the whole period of your holiday.

VACCINATIONS

  • All dogs must have up to date vaccinations for Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Infectious Hepatitis and Leptospirosis. These are all included in your pet’s annual routine vaccination.
  •  Cats must be vaccinated against Feline Enteritis. We will require proof of up to date vaccinations before entering the kennels and cattery so please check your pet’s health record before coming in.
  • If your pet is due to be vaccinated and you would like our vet to carry this out at the farm this can be done any Thursday, which is the day our vet does her weekly check of the kennels and cattery. This is only possible if your pet is due to be vaccinated, not if he is overdue. If he is overdue you will need to take him to your own vet prior to boarding and have him updated.

KENNEL COUGH

  • Kennel cough (canine infectious bronchitis) is an upper respiratory infection affecting dogs. It is caused by a combination of the canine parainfluenza virus and the bacteria Bordetella bronchiseptica. Kennel cough is so named because the infection can spread quickly among dogs in the close quarters of a kennels or animal shelter. The virus is spread through airborne droplets produced when sneezing or coughing and is highly contagious.
  • Symptoms can include a harsh, dry cough, retching, sneezing, snorting or vomiting and usually begin a few days after exposure. Although not particularly pleasant, it is not usually serious and can be treated with antibiotics.
  • Dogs can be vaccinated against kennel cough but the vaccination is not a fail-safe preventative. Just like human influenza, even after receiving the vaccination, a dog can still contract mutated strains or less severe cases.

OUR KENNEL COUGH POLICY

  • We recommend that all dogs are vaccinated against kennel cough before they board with us however it is not compulsory.
  • We suggest you discuss the vaccination with your veterinary surgeon as some breeds are more prone to contracting the virus than others. If you do decide to have your dog vaccinated against kennel cough it must be done AT LEAST two weeks prior to boarding.
  • To prevent the spread of the virus our kennels and feeding bowls are disinfected daily with an anti-viral disinfectant. If we hear a dog coughing in the kennels he will be immediately moved to our quarantine block where he will be seen by the vet.

VETERINARY CARE

  • Sometimes the stress of being away from home can cause health issues for both dogs and cats.
  • We have a vet from HOUSE & JACKSON veterinary clinic visit the kennels weekly to check on all the animals and to carry out any non urgent treatment. In case of an emergency we will take the pet to the vet surgery immediately.
  • On arrival at the farm you will be asked for an emergency contact number. Should we have any concerns about your pet we will contact you. Should your pet become ill we contact you to receive your approval for veterinary treatment.
  •  If we are unable to contact you we will use our vet’s judgement. If your own vet is local and you would prefer us to take your pet to them in an emergency please let us know in advance.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS

  • It is not necessary to bring beds, bedding or bowls as we supply these.
  • If you wish to bring something familiar for your pet to sleep on or with we recommend that you bring something old that you do not want returned.
